WFM Media Release
Stage 4 Lockdown - COVID-19 Safe Plan & Enhanced Operations
Friday 14th August 2020
What this means to WFM, our Clients and Stakeholders
With reference to the State Government's Extension of the State of Emergency and the recent Stage 4 lockdown, WFM are committed to continuing to deliver home modifications, aids and equipment to those most vulnerable in our community, in a safe manner, mindful of priorities.
We have prepared a COVID-19 Safe Plan which is now a “living” document and will be updated when new directions come from both the State and Federal Governments.
We have revisited who we are and reinforced our being an “Essential Service” and are committed to undertake “Urgent and/or Essential” work for people on their homes during the lockdown period.
We have reinforced and enhanced our Infection Control Procedure, particularly around the compulsory wearing of masks and we have now provided an option for our trades people to either wear goggles or a face shield (where appropriate).
Our team are very mindful of the environment that we work in and how important it is to keep those that we visit safe and to keep ourselves safe too; ensuring our clients, staff and families are not exposed to the virus.
We have taken extra steps to, wherever possible, have our office staff working from home; Glen Walker has set about building a new office so that when office staff are onsite, they can work separately. We are also separating our tradies between two factories and each and every one of our team have taken responsibility for ensuring that all our work areas, tools, vehicles and ourselves are sanitised on a regular basis; cleaning our workplace with hypochlorite solution at the end of each day in conjunction with alcohol based cleaners.
We look to our governments and Allied Health experts to advise us of any additional requirements and want to reassure our valued Allied Health Workers and clients that your priorities and safety are paramount to us.
We have welcomed 2 new staff members; Amanda Thomas (Amanda II) and Mike Walden. Amanda is our finance officer and works on a Wednesday. Mike is a compliance expert and is working with the other Amanda (Amanda I) to ensure that quote requests, site visits, orders and compliance issues are triaged correctly and delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
We believe that the likelihood of interruption to continuity of business is unlikely and welcome all requests for home modifications. We do ask however, that when a request is made to go ahead with a job, that a statement as to whether it is “Urgent and/or Essential” accompany the request.
This month is Tradies National Health Month and we want to acknowledge the outstanding job all tradies do and the risk they too are taking in fulfilling their role for the benefit of others. We would like to personally acknowledge our hard working tradies here at WFM and applaud the caring, committed and hardworking ethic they show each and every day in order to “Keep people in their homes longer”.
Wishing you all good health and safety and we look forward to working with you now and into the future and breathing a sight of relief once we come out the other side.
